Another Student-Built Home, Complete!
Lewis-Palmer High School students just completed their Home Build! This 3-bedroom, 2-bathroom, 1,200 sq ft modular home was constructed entirely in the school parking lot — a full-scale, hands-on project that gave students real experience in the trades.
From framing and roofing to plumbing, electrical, HVAC, drywall, flooring, cabinetry, and finish work — these students were involved in every phase of the build.
Through this process, they didn’t just learn technical skills — they developed problem-solving abilities, teamwork, communication, time management, and jobsite safety practices. They’re now walking away confident, competent, and ready to enter the workforce.
Outcomes we’re proud of:
– 4 students were hired into the construction industry! (a few more in interview process)
– 1 student is heading to Colorado Mesa University to study Construction Management!
A HUGE thank you to all our industry partners who were worked alongside students every step of the way — and a special shoutout to Nick Starkey of Vantage Homes for serving as our Builder Captain and mentor throughout the project.
