JOHNATHAN & CONNER – INDEPENDENT PLUMBING SOLUTIONS

Jonathan and Conner worked summer internships with Independent Plumbing Solutions in Fort Collins, CO.

Jonathan said, “Joining the IPS team couldn’t have been more of a pleasure. Having this opportunity has taught me many skills for the future. Working here has helped me in both having a job, learning to have a good work ethic and has set me up for nothing but success for time to come.”

Conner said “The opportunity to be hired by IPS and learn the plumbing trade is an amazing experience. I love the people & the work. I came into this not knowing a thing about plumbing & clueless on what to do. Now I can confidently say I learned how things work & what to do.”

They both have been offered positions at Independent Plumbing Solutions during the school year and post-graduation.

BLAKE – NUNN CONSTRUCTION

Blake graduated from Rampart High School in May 2020. By July 2020, with the help of CICC, Blake accepted a position with Nunn Construction. Blake was excited to work on his first job site at Colorado College Hockey Stadium. He said CICC set him up for success by educating him on job site operations and the importance of PPE and tool safety. Upon coordinator check-in, Blake reported that his job site excellence earned him a raise and promotion to Carpenter Apprentice. Blake is thankful for CICC for the skills he learned in the classroom and hopes to continue his career in construction as a Commercial Electrician Apprentice.

KRISTINA – LEWIS PALMER HIGH SCHOOL

“I am Kristina, and I am a senior at Lewis Palmer High School. Ever since I took my first construction class sophomore year, I have been hooked. I love working with my hands and creating things piece by piece, nail by nail. I also love the environment of which I work and the people that I meet and work with. I aspire to be an Aerospace Engineer and hope to build and design the planes of the future.”

NICK – CORONADO HIGH SCHOOL

“The most beneficial thing about the class are the opportunities, connections, and help that you can take a hold of in Construction. Learning how to communicate and build a network is helpful, because otherwise I wouldn’t experience those things on my own. Even if you don’t go into construction, there are things that this class prepares you for in all industries, and that’s really valuable to me too.” Nick, Junior at Coronado High School
